Most machinists (like our customer here) know that if your mill is not trammed properly, surface finishes will be poor and parts will not be flat or square. Thanks to the Pro Tram System from Edge Technology, the tramming process has never been easier, quicker or more accurate. Tramming is the process of squaring the head of your milling machine to the table and this useful device fits the bed of a 6" vise allowing the head to be trammed to the vise instead of the table.

The calibration procedure accounts for any error introduced by worn collets, it is as simple as lowering the unit to the table and adjusting the head until both indicators read the same. It can be used with a sine bar or sine plate to adjust the head to precise angles and displays a large, easy to read indicator face. It’s guaranteed to be equal to or better than any other tramming method or spindle squaring device available (graduation: 0.001 inch & gauge repeatability: 0.0002 inch), as well as it’s wonderful red anodized aluminium finish.
