Dial calipers bridge the gap between traditional vernier calipers and modern digital versions. They offer a quick, reliable measurement solution without relying on batteries, featuring an easy-to-read dial for convenience. A single instrument typically allows measurement of external, internal and depth dimensions.
Typically, dial calipers have a single graduation type, either metric or imperial. To help prevent unit mix-ups, many metric models feature a yellow dial, while imperial (inch) versions use a white dial. This simple colour coding reduces the risk of reading errors.
Due to their mechanical design, dial calipers are more sensitive to shock and contamination from dirt compared to vernier or digital types. However, as with any precision tool, proper care in handling and storage is always recommended.
Discover our range from trusted brands like Mitutoyo and Moore & Wright, with popular sizes such as 150 mm, 200 mm, and 300 mm available from stock. Size options are generally limited to a maximum of 300 mm.
UKAS calibration ensures measurements are traceable to national or international standards, essential for regulated industries such as aerospace, automotive, and medical. We provide UKAS calibration options on most calipers, giving you added confidence in measurement accuracy and compliance with quality systems.
