Made in Japan - very good quality product. Have been using it for some time in an environment where it has contact with lube and oil and in spite of that it works perfect.

Did not like plastic ratchet knob. Should be all metal on tools of this quality .

Great quality as you would expect from Mitutoyo. Buy well and buy once. Lovely mechanical design, will see years of reliable service. Not digital but it'll always work and never need new batteries.
