Well, where to start? I was impressed by the reviews of other buyers considering this as a very good product. I guess those reviews are based probably on no previous experience with an real 20 - 30 year old actual Caliper made in Czechoslovakia. What am I on about? I do really miss the quality of the products that were made 30 year's ago. Some actual facts: Does the tool feel accurate? Yes, it does. I have no doubt it is accurate. If that is your only criterion. Go for it. Is the tool well made? Here is where it get a bit iffy in my opinion. Despite quite a decent feel and look, you will notice some rough edges here and then when you look closer. I think it should have been machined a bit better, sharp edges should have been polished more carefully. Lastly - and this is something I did not notice based on the description - the wheel use to open/close the caliper is fake. Its probably meant to be like that and is not a realy deal breaker either. I will probably keep the item and likely I would buy it again. Yet I can't give it 5 stars. Not at this price tag.

Japanese engineering: excellent and great value for money

This is like the Seiko watch of vernier calipers, it is slightly more expensive than the Chinese calipers available on Amazon but it is worth the extra price because it is very well made and has no zero-point error like the cheaper ones do, so it is money well spent

Good product, good price

Decent quality. Comes with little soft plastic pouch which I found really useful compared to the hard plastic case.

Excellent value.

I have the digital version of this caller at work and I constantly worry about getting it wet / dirty. It was also very expensive. For my home workshop, I bought a cheap digital vernier for about 20 quid. The cheap vernier is TOTAL rubbish, but I can't afford the digital Mitutoyo so I cast my mind back 20 years to how I used to measure and make things. It might seem like a £20 digital caliper is good value versus a £40 Mitutoyo vernier, but consider it this way; If you're making parts, you want them to be correct to print. If you have inaccurate measuring equipment the parts won't be correct. If they aren't correct, they're scrap. It doesn't take long to create £20 of scrap so if you want good value measuring equipment, get these and not some cheapo digital caliper. As for the quality of the finish, it's fair to say these aren't as well finished as the set I used 20 years ago,but they're still very well made in the important areas.
