Then adjust the tool until the bubble is centered in the level. This procedure ensures the cutter is accurately placed on a plane that intersects the rotational axis of the spindle.

does the job but a bit fiddely

It works but it's a bit fiddly holding it in place close to the chuck with your left hand and adjusting the quick change tool holder with your right as well as being able to see the bubble. And of course it's only for round stock. Having said that l set up all my tools currently in holders in one session so hopefully rain correctly set with the occasional re-che.

A beautifully made little tool

The 'Edge technology' range of tools are beautifully made and this gauge is no exception. I levelled the lathe and then set it up on the bed. It is quick and easy to use and I was able to finely adjust the cutters in the quick change tool post. No excuse for out of adjustment cutters now.
